Garmin Oregon kitGood Car Windshield Mount Kit.

Connecting the device mounting plate is little more difficult to Oregon, but when connected to a safe and secure. A glass suction cup has a very strong cup of clicks, and GPS mounting plate is a stable component of the merger. Sometimes I let the GPS device connected to the mounting plate and remove the suction cup is mounted on the ball. The power cable is very long and you can save there, or the extra cable tie. In conclusion, a GPS car kit is a good unit and provides a secure mount the engine. Check also Watch GPS.

It converts them to a car waiting for the GPS features that enable good management of a disk. Very satisfied with the suction cup, slides down to the adapter, connect securly. It is all a good addition to my PDA.

SEJAT SJ-5210 : USB  GPS Receiver

Many people have struggled with trying to interface handheld GPS to their laptop for a couple of years. Some people live aboard on sailboat in the Caribbean using navigation software to plan their passages and have been frustrated trying to use their handheld GPS input which resulted in continual problems.

It picks up the signal below at their nav station, aquires quickly and performs without causing any problems with their computer. The SEJAT SJ-5210 continues to track even in buildings where DeLorme’s Earthmate with serial to USB adapter is a dead loss. We have tried this product both on Debian GNU/Linux and on Windows XP/Vista/7.

 Globalsat BU-353 GPS Receiver

It was time to look for a new receiver that could acquire satellites quickly and require no user intervention to turn the receiver on and off. A USB GPS receiver was the solution for me since it’s A) powered by the computer, B) turns on/off based on if the carputer is on/off, C) SiRF III chipset, D) waterproof. Installation was extremely easy and iGuidance 4 reconized the receiver right away. Being waterproof, the Globsat BU-353 can be externally mounted.

This is a plus because if externally mounted, the receiver has a better line of sight to the sky, which results in faster satellite acquisitions. It also has a magnetic base so you could attach it to anything metal on your car (roof, door, hood, etc). The performance of the receiver is simply amazing. By the time my computer boots into Windows and iGuidance is launched, the receiver already has a lock of at least 8 satellites.

So far, I’ve never had to wait for the receiver to lock onto satellites, it is always instant. Simply said, this is an amazing GPS receiver that I’d be happy to recommend to anybody. The downside is that the receiver is USB, so it can only be used with a computer, not cell phones. The lowest price I found online for the receiver was $36.95, and I’ll say, that’s $36.95 well spent!
